Our client based in Milton Keynes is looking for a shipping team leader to join their team in a temp to perm position.
The Company
Our client is a full service, global engineering, repair and logistics Company providing best cost solutions to many of the worlds’ premier brands. We support the entire product life cycle, from original design input, pre-sales testing, local customisation and configuration through to our field support activities that include technical assistance as well as product repair, replacement and refurbishment programs.
The Role
The Shipping Team Leader role forms part of the Logistics Shipping team. They will need to participate in our warehouse operations and activities with skills in storing materials, packing and scanning orders. The goal is to increase efficiency, profitability and customer satisfaction.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Manage the team day to day and provide support
- Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship)
- Dispatch and process warehouse stock products (pack, load, label, dispatch)
- Keep quality standards high for audits
- Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimise space utilisation
- Report any discrepancies
- Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and co-workers
- Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations
- Provide support to other areas of the business when required
Background and Skills
- Team leader experience in a Warehouse environment is desirable
- Proven working experience as a Warehouse Worker
- Proficiency in, databases and WMS systems
- Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects
- Current forklift licence
