1. Purpose of the role
To generate sales by advising the customer on best products, specifications, quotations, quote
conversion to order, and customer service.

2. Position in the company (organizational structure)
Reports to ABD Commercial Office Manager

3. Replacement in case of absence
Commercial Office team members

4. Tasks
Quotation Management
• Managing quote conversion to sales (actively follow up quotations sent, monitor live
quotation status and actively negotiate project sales)
• Processing quotations (enquiry handling, advising on best products, price calculation,
creating quotation).
• Negotiate prices within trading policy
• Recording Win / loss of sales on CRM system.
• Liaising with technical department on bespoke elements of projects.

Project Information Management
• Lead generation via use of Barbour ABI, Protel and any other tools available.
• Exchange sales and project information with other members of Field Sales and Sales Office.
• Liaising with technical department on bespoke elements of projects.

Product advice and sales prospect generation
• Develop demand for ABD products with existing customers by promoting and explaining the
benefit in use, availability, technical support and services.
• Introducing products to new customers and creating prospects.

Customer Management
• Use CRM system to maintain customer, project and quote records and communicate key
information enabling others to progress and secure business.
• Conducting contract reviews to ensure flawless execution of customer orders.

Customer Service Support
• Meet and exceed customer expectations on customer service.
• Managing, via relevant ERP and CRM systems, order process through to despatch.
• Managing after sales care including resolution of customer queries, POD retrieval, credit
requests and collection processing.
• Reporting and logging of customer complaints / CAR’s.

Sales & Purchase Order Processing
• Timely and accurate processing of Customer orders (standard, intercompany, bespoke and
proforma).
• Produce and issue back to back orders to suppliers.
• Liaison with suppliers, purchasing, production and warehouse regarding product availability
and delivery lead times, feeding information back to customers.
• Recording Win / loss of sales on CRM system by updating quotation status and inputting ERP
sales order number.

Other
• Assist and progress with coordinated sales and marketing strategies.
• Feedback information on market and competitor activity.
• Complete monthly reports and KPI’s.

5. Authorities, responsibilities
• Work within defined trading policies and guidelines.
• Maintaining clean, tidy and safe working environment.

6. Communication
• External – All customers from designers, specifiers, contractors, merchants to installation
teams.
• Internal – Building Drainage division, Water Management Sales teams and Inter
Group.

7. Knowledge
• Sales Experience in business to business environment.
• IT literacy (Microsoft Office i.e.: Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
• Knowledge of construction industry, contractors, merchants and specifiers who use Building
Drainage products an advantage
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and / or construction drawings an advantage

8. Education
• Minimum of GCSE (C) or equivalent Maths and English.

10. Health & Safety
Road Safety and Site Safety apply. The employee will have responsibility to maintain their own, their
colleagues and third parties safety in all working environments. They will also adhere to the rules
governing sites, will wear appropriate PPE where necessary and will follow instructions as issued
on customer sites.

11. Business Management System
All Building Drainage Procedures as appropriate.

the holder of the role to perform tasks requested in the interest of the company
